  • glacial drift

    Sediment and rocks transported by glaciers and deposited directly on the land or indirectly in streams, lakes, and oceans. It consists of a heterogeneous mixture of clay, silt, sand, gravel, and boulders ranging in size and shape.

  • glacier

    A moving mass of ice.

  • groundwater

    Underground water that is generally found in the pore space of rocks or sediments and that can be collected with wells, tunnels, or drainage galleries or that flows naturally to the earth's surface via seeps or springs.

  • group

    A formal stratigraphic unit made up of two or more contiguous or associated formations. A group name is made up of a geographic name and the word "group."
